Ganes Capital Management Ltd was founded by Dr Clive Gaunt and Mr Wayne Jones as a privately-owned boutique fund manager, based in Brisbane, specialising in the management of investments in the Australian equities markets. The name 'GANES' is derived from the managers surnames, GAunt and joNES.
Ganes Capital Management Ltd launched the Ganes Focused Value Fund in October 2002 and acts as the Investment Manager and Responsible Entity (RE) to the fund, ensuring the fund is managed in accordance with the Constitution and the Corporations Act.
Ganes Capital Management aims to provide investors with an exposure to a unique portfolio of Australian listed companies that will provide growth and income to investors over the longer-term. Clive Gaunt and Wayne Jones provided the initial capital for the fund in October 2002 and are committed to a long term holding in the fund. They each have a direct or beneficial holding in Class R (Retail) units

Steven has a Master of Laws and Bachelor of Business. Steven is currently the Managing Director of Opus Capital Group www.opusaustralia.com, a property fund manager with over 2600 investors across eleven active funds and around $200 million in commercial, industrial and retail property under management. Steven brings to the company extensive experience in the proper and efficient operation of managed investment schemes and managing a responsible entity.

Clive has a Ph.D from the Queensland University of Technology, a Masters of Financial Management from the University of Queensland and a Bachelor of Business from the Brisbane College of Advanced Education. Clive has held various academic positions including Senior Lecturer in Finance at the University of Queensland Business School.
His teaching and research is focused on the stockmarket, market anomalies and portfolio management. His stockmarket research has been published in national and international peer reviewed journals and, for several years, wrote a monthly column for Shares magazine. Clive is jointly responsible for the investment decisions of the Ganes Focused Value Fund.

Wayne is a CPA (Certified Practicing Accountant) and has a Bachelor of Business from Queensland University of Technology. Wayne has extensive commercial experience in accounting and finance roles in both public and private companies, as well as writing for The Intelligent Investor investment newsletter covering a range of companies and investment issues. Wayne is jointly responsible for the investment decisions of the Ganes Focused Value Fund.
